Choosing your gear
How do I pick the right grip size?
The quickest test: hold the racket as if you were going to hit a forehand, then slide the index finger of your other hand into the gap between your ring finger and palm. It should fit snugly. If there's no room, the grip is too small; if there's a wide gap, it's too large. When you're between sizes, choose the smaller one — you can always build it up with an overgrip, but you can't shrink a grip. Our adult rackets run 4 1/8 through 4 1/2; the Junior racket is sized by length (23", 25", 26").
What string tension should I use?
Lower tension (in the low 50s of pounds) gives you more power and a softer feel, which is friendlier on the arm. Higher tension (high 50s and up) gives you more control and a crisper response but less free power. If you're unsure, start in the middle of your racket's recommended range. Co-poly strings, like our Co-Poly Tennis String Set, are usually strung a few pounds lower than synthetic gut because the material is stiffer.
How do I choose the right racket?
It comes down to head size, weight, and how much help you want from the frame. Beginners and players who want easy power tend to like a larger head and lighter frame, such as the Power Spin 100. Stronger players who supply their own pace often prefer a smaller head and heavier, more stable frame like the Control 95 or Pro Tour 98. Orders and shipping
How much is shipping, and when is it free?
Shipping is free on orders over $75 within the United States. Orders under that threshold are charged a flat shipping rate shown at checkout before you pay. See the Shipping page for full details.
How fast will my order arrive?
Orders placed on a business day are usually processed the same day, and standard delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. As soon as your order ships, we email you a tracking number so you know when to expect it.
How do I track my order?
When your order leaves our warehouse, we email a tracking link. You can also view order status in your account if you checked out while signed in. If tracking hasn't updated after a couple of business days, email samuel@birdierackets.com with your order number and we'll look into it.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We ship quickly, so contact us at samuel@birdierackets.com as soon as possible — ideally right away. As long as your order hasn't shipped, we're glad to update the address, swap a grip size, or cancel it. Once it's on the way, we'll handle it as a return.
Returns and exchanges
How long do I have to return something?
You have 30 days from delivery to return unused gear for a refund. Items must be in new, unused condition with original packaging and tags. See Returns & Refunds for the full policy and steps.
Can I return a racket after playing with it?
Feel free to pick up a racket and check the grip and balance, try on shoes indoors, and inspect the gear. To be returnable, items need to be unused and complete, including packaging and tags. A racket that's been played on court or a can of balls that's been opened can't be returned. If you're not sure whether an item still qualifies, ask us first.
Do you offer exchanges?
Yes. If you need a different grip size, string color, or shoe size, email samuel@birdierackets.com with your order number and what you'd like instead. The fastest route is usually to return the original item for a refund and place a new order for the size you need.
